A Release is the result of constructing, implementing changes and related CIs.

After working on changes, problems, incidents the releases take place in order to deliver a good service. As many other processes, planning is a fundamental step that must be considered.


A Release Record contains the details of one Release and is displayed on the Release Details page.

Status Breadcrumb

The Status of a Release is shown in the breadcrumb at the top of the Release Details page. Possible Status values are Planning, Preparation, Builing, Testing, Deployment, Verify Deployment, Implementing, Closed.

Main Panels

The body of the Release Detail page includes panels which group sets of related information fields. Tooltips beside each field contain the field definitions.

Following are the panel names and the kinds of information that they contain:

  • Information: Release ID, Subject, Description, Risk, Risk Asessment, Released, Version, Closure Category, Priority, Status, Release Type, Urgency, Impact, Owner,Task Time Spent.
  • Contact Information: Contact, Account, InSite Department, Contact Email. Contact Phone, Contact Mobile.
  • System Information: Created By, Last Modified By.

Accordion Panels

The Release Detail page features an accordion in its top right corner. The accordion affords compact display of essential information that is needed less frequently than the information in the body of the Release Detail page.

Following are the panels in the accordion and what they enable you to do:

  • Contact: Record the Name, Account, Department, Email address of the customer/client Contact
  • Related Changes: Manage Related Changes.
  • Release Relationships: Manage related CIs.
  • Release History: Maintain a history of Release-related events
  • Notes & Attachments: Track related notes and documents
  • Tasks List: Create and Manage Release and Change tasks.
  • Roll-Out Planning Layout: A visualized way to organize your tasks.
